We had a rest day for the Porsche today. We all had a trip to Antwerp in Tom & Marta’s 7-seater Ford C-Max.
We had a leisurely start after a proper breakfast for a change. Not so sure about the
rest !! for us after the quiet of the Hotels rooms ,as we are now sharing our space with William and Hannah, Tom & Marta and Granny Dinah.
We were all able to get into the 7-seater, so we gave the Porsche a rest. It was reasonably warm in the sunshine today but cooler in the shade, but perhaps more importantly dry.
As the very privileged guest blogger today, I will fill you in on the day out.
We became sightseeing tourists for the day and joined the throngs in a lovely sunny Antwerp.
We set out about 11.00 o’clock and drove the 50 minutes to central Antwerp. We strolled through the streets to the Grote Markt where we looked up at the very impressive Town Hall and Brabo Fountain. As it was so sunny and bright and Hannah was starving, we had a snack lunch in an outdoor café (is summer really on the
way)!
After lunch, we strolled round to the Cathedral but it was quite expensive to go in as they had some wonderful triptychs on display so we just peeped through the windows.
Next stop was a café for coffee and waffles as we are in Belgium.
As William was going for a surprise sleep over at his friend’s house, we had to get back so we headed back to Brussels.
Neal has gone to take Hannah, William and Marta for a ride in the Porsche, dropping William for a party, refuel ling the car and doing some essential shopping for Carine at the local Planète Carrefour. During the trip to the party the Porsche crossed 3,000 kilometre mark for this adventure. Well done, Porsche!!
Bon Voyage for tomorrow and see you back in Blighty.
