Well today marks the end of my first week here in Punta Cana. Twenty one (21) more to go lol!!! I must say it is above and beyond what I anticipated. Everything seems to be running smoothly then some. Overall I'm very happy with my condo selection. You never know what you are actually getting until you get here. Its just the right size for me yet big enough to accomodate a few guests. Its furnished well and has pretty much all the essentials you need in the kitchen. Although I think I will buy the owner a new toaster as it only toasts one side lol! I originally thought there was a washer/dryer inside the condo but turns out there is not. But thats ok because the complex has a really nice laundry room with a fulltime attendant. And I have chosen to use her to do my laundry lol! A FULL size laundry bag is washed/dryed/folded for $6. I'll take that anytime lol! Plus there is an exercise area with free weights and a weight machine next to the laundry room. The location is fantastic! I seriously would not have to ever leave a mile radius if I didnt want
to. Its all right here. I have found no less the 7 restuarants/bars within three blocks of me. The condo itself is located within the complex perfectly for my tastes. The balcony is right next to the pool. The kitchen has an ocean view. The ocean breeze goes right through it! I actually have not been using the AC at all. A simple fan in the bedroom works great! The AC is a small wall mounted unit in the bedroom only when I do end up using it. Of course I have been told that July and August are ungodly hot. We shall see. The beach is amazing! Carlos the security guy is there all day. And you can actually leave your valuables etc. right where you are laying and go take a walk or go swimming and NOT have to worry about it. Carlos walks softly and carries a big stick lol!(j/k) But it is nicely supplied with comfortable laying lounges with cushions, not the hard plastic ones. There are several shaded bamboo wood shelters to escape the hot sun as well. It is completely private and has its own volleyball court and marked off swimming area. And as I
said it is within feet of several bars/restuarants. Plus the occasional ice cream vendor with his cart lol! The pool is clean and refreshing. Again very nice cushioned laying lounges and many umbrellas. There is a privately run small bar/restuarant called "Sharkeys" right next to the pool. I am surprised due to fact it is low season, but he is still open all day/night form like 9am until 11pm or so. So all that being said the best part is the people! I have in just one week met so many good friendly people. I almost feel like I'm a "local expat" already. Danny's has a group of very nice and very pretty young ladies working there. Vivianna is from Italy(pretty with a killer smile) and I'm guessing she will be my BFF lol! I have already depended on her for her wisdom and knowledge! Im sure we will become close. I have already mentioned "Very" or Veronia(sp) from the other night who is from Spain. Then there is Maria. Who never smiles cuz shes from Russia lol(her reason). And Inga, a pretty but very quite(shy maybe lol) Polish girl. Antionio, one of the regulars is quite the character. I have mentioned Monty from New York who I am buying a scooter from. And there is Todd. Get this. He is from Cleveland lol! Small world. I have met vendors and store owners as well. Had breakfast this morning at Bonita's(Bonnie's). Very good meal indeed. Great conversation with regular Neil as well. Both are Canadians. Then there is Carlos who owns a lil shop just feet from Stanza Mare. He has actually lived in the US for over twenty years. In Boston for many then in Tennesse. Beach vendors Cucumber and Johnson Im sure will be entertaining me for weeks. As well as JUST AMUSING me ladies of the night Maria/Nancy who work the street I walk down to Dannys to lol. They were curious of course but understood my reasoning as to why I will not be needing them. THANK YOU Yari lol! And last but not least visitors from Detroit Denise and Linda who live here in the complex. So see there. Only one week all by myself and look at the number of new people who are part of my life lol! Thats about it for the first week folks. PLEASE when you visit my Blog leave a comment or two. I really want to know if you are enjoying these posts or if I am wasting my time. Till next time!
