This morning we took the tram to the Prinsengracht to see the Anne Frank House, for weeks I had been trying to get tickets online but they were all sold out, we had no choice, either stand in line or don't see it. We stood in line...for 1 hour, we figured if we stand in line for anything, this would be it. (photo)

It was powerful to see the video of Otto Frank and hear him talk of his daughter, and how even though he had a great relationship with his daughter, he realized, after reading her diary, that he had not really known her in that she had such deep thoughts and emotions and he concluded that a parent never really knows a child. It was also really touching to see the photograph of Otto when he returned to the room and to see how her pain had now become his pain.

For lunch we went to the pancake house where Steve asked for an Americano coffee and the waiter almost bit his head off, he was totally intolerant, when I tried to explain to the waiter in Dutch that Steve does not like his coffee that strong the waiter replied: *He can have Dutch coffee, that's it*...wow! Steve being the nicest man in the world that I know, he let it go..I almost didn't....next time!!

We walked to the Centraal Station and took the ferry, three times...hahaha We didnt realize there are about half a dozen ferry's crossing the Ij (body of water behind the Central Station) and they each go to a different part of North Amsterdam, so we figured ok, lets take a few rides and see where they go, this is how we ended up at the building called the EYE, where they show Indie Films. Very neat building (see photo)...on our way back we came across a FEBO automaat Yes, Meat Kroket, finally! but man, were we tired, we spend entire days walking around and seeing things.. so many impressions, so many great experiences, aside from the nasty waiter, all other experiences with Dutch people have mostly been super duper positive, they go out of their way to help us.

Tomorrow another big adventure awaits us, we are so crazy about getting the Dutch experience that we are going to rent bikes and bike it to the Keukenhof...yeah really, stay tuned
