Woolly says – So very very sad, we were heading for Ghent and were now in Stourbridge!!!!!!! How come…. We set off to visit Brugge on the way to Ghent, Jo was not feeling too well and after four miles on the road with severe winds nearly sending us over we pulled up. We sat for a short while in silence before Ian and I decided that something needed to be done! Contacting Jo’s consultant the decision became easy, get to the ferry. We headed the ten miles through terrible wind conditions to Zeebrugge and booked onto the 6pm crossing. We sat and waited at the port in tears of dismay but knowing that we were being sensible. TWO ferries in less than a week I thought it could be exciting, The Pride of York was much bigger than our other crossing and I had a lovely surprise to find we had bunk beds for the night – Ian and Jo were less pleased at this!!! The ship had allsorts and I had a marvellous time checking out the kids play area and numerous bars before they made me sit down. We spent the evening quietly, first listening to a duo trying to sing before heading to the Piano Bar (most posh) to listen to a lovely man singing and playing for our entertainment. The night wasn’t so good with a force 6 gale going on the boat was going up and down, side to side and made me feel quite unwell (Ian and Jo have sea legs but refused to buy me any!). After only a few hours sleep but thirteen hours at sea we arrived in Hull, I was very glad to get off the ferry and back into Georgie, with only 158 miles and winds pushing us everywhere we made it to Stourbridge. Jo is ok and has been told to rest up for a week, had a slight change to her medicines and will have a quick check up next week before we can hit the road again – YIPPEE!!!

Sorry about the set back...
...but glad you chose to go back home. Being ill in a foreign country is no fun. Maybe the winds will have gone by then. Look after yourselves.
