Birthday Fun in Branson

We spent the last few days in Branson, MO, celebrating our son, Jeffrey's, 29th Birthday! Most of you know Jeffrey is our only child and was born with special needs and .... that he is the light of our lives! Jeff loves music and dancing so we decided on a trip to Branson and took him to four shows. He was recognized at all of the shows when they announced his Birthday. Since he inherited his love of the spotlight from his Mother, he loved all of the attention.

The 70's Show starring Barry Williams, better known as Greg Brady from the Brady Bunch, was the first show we saw. Not the greatest technically, but very entertaining and, as a huge Brady Bunch fan, Jeff loved it.

The second show definitely lived up to it's name, Amazing Pets. We expected the awesome tricks performed by the show's dogs but the show also included truly amazing tricks performed by house cats! They behaved like performing lions or tigers sitting up on stools and coming downstage to climb, jump, walk tightropes, etc upon command. The trainer was a Russian gentleman who spoke to them quietly in Russian and seemed to have them completely under his control. An interesting side comment, if you have seen the movie, The Big Fish ( one of our favorites), he and one of his cats were included performing a trick where a cat jumped down to him from about 20 feet in the high. They recreated the trick at the show. Also, all these animals came from animal shelters- Amazing.

#1 Hits of the 60's was the third show and proved to be the most fun. An absolutely great cast who met Jeff before the show and kept him involved the entire show, even bringing him on stage to dance with them.

Lastly, we saw The Haygoods, a family of 5 Brothers and 1 Sister who are extremely talented. The singing, dancing and instrumentals were incredible. When in Branson, go see them. You won't be sorry!
