Last night we stayed in a rest stop up in the snowy mountains and it was freezing! We had to break out the sleeping bags and I was wearing 2 layers of clothes. Nevertheless the rest area was nice and at least we were up early and back on the road. Around mid-morning we decided to pull over at a town called Merimbula and take a walk along the nature boardwalk. It's a nice little walk around the inlet and it takes you past Oyster farms. We then got back on the road and headed for Eden (not the Adam and Eve kind), our original plan was to visit the Killer Whale museum but the sun came out and so we hit the beach - I had some strap lines to get rid of! The beach was lovely and quiet and James went for a swim while I soaked up the rays. Our final stop for the night was at a sleepy little town (outside of the school holidays!) called Lakes Entrance.

Bailey's bit: Our coldest night in Australia was a bit of a shock, although I felt for the other backpackers staying in a tent! Lakes entrance is a quiet little seaside town with a man-made channel from the lakes to the sea to allow access for boats to the various interconnected lakes. Our stay here is a step up with en-suite facilities (located next to the van), while our cooking moved to another level with homemade breaded chicken goujons, sweet corn cob, broccoli and sweet potato crisps, BOOM!

Daily mileage: 5 as we arrived in day light I had and explore of the esplanade front and wide streets around the town. I have my bearings of this town!
