Hello everyone.. What a whirlwind the first week and half has been.. Started my journey to APAC on January 5th. Left Boston on Japan Airlines at 12 pm.. Landed in Japan on Sunday around 3:30pm; flight was delayed and arrived in Hong Kong around midnight on Sunday/ Monday. By the time I picked up all of my luggage and grabbed a cab to the hotel it was 1:30am on Monday. I was in work on Monday, bright and early at 8:30am..

I was in the office Monday and half a day on tuesday and then off to visit clients in Singapore ( for 1 day) and Beijing for (2 days).. I was back in Hong Kong late Friday night and had the weekend to explore and try and figure out where to live- that is still a long and drawn out process. It has been exciting and crazy experience but I am loving it. On Saturday , I went to Causeway bay to experience it as it most craziest time - I can rule out living there- it was way too chaotic and was not overly impressed with the area- there are tons of malls and shops but we all know I am not a big shopping diva. I really liked the mid levels and found the weekend fine there so I am going to concentrate on this area when I can go to look at apartments. I have been trying to branch out on my food choices but still will not eat certain meats or crazy looking items but I am getting better at being open to more asian food than i was in the past.

The funniest experience was on Saturday - I was in the mall and walking by the huge supermarket- it takes up the whole 2nd floor - it is called City Super. As I was walking by - i saw my facial product that I love and helps to clean up my skin so i stopped to ask how much and ended up being there for over 2 hours getting a full mud facial, anti wrinkling cream treatment and a neck and shoulder massage.. Of course they were not happy when after all that I was like well thanks but I really just want the serum and the cream for my face... LOL.

Of course the whole time I was sitting ther i was like -no one is even paying attention but if this was the States, everyone would be stopping and staring and wondering what the heck is going on. I am looking forward to traveling while in APAC, my current list is: Cambodia, Vietnam, Phuket( Thailand), and Bali.. so stayed tuned for those adventures.

The people are very nice and welcoming and it is easy to navigate and communicate in Hong Kong. I take the local subway which is 10x better than the US and the airport express train is awesome and comfortable. I am looking forward to not having to travel the rest of this month to work on getting settled, understand my clients and team better too.

I miss everyone back home very much but hopefully by keeping this blog, you will be able to experience Hong Kong with me and it will be like we are near each other again.

PS- Pics to follow- i forgot to bring my cord to upload the pics to the computer..

See you in the next entry..

Love,

Sue
