Saturday Ian went scuba diving again. His first dive was 70 ft deep near Planacar coral garden, his second dive was about 40 ft deep, it was out near el Presidente (wherever that it is.) He had a great time. He saw lots of cool stuff down there, we need to get an underwater camera.

Afterwards, we went for a walk to pick up our laundry, stop by the bakery and rotisserie chicken stand. We were soaked with sweat by time we got back, so we hang out at the pool and meet some more new neighbors from the States who have just arrived. Our condo is totally full, if anyone leaves, someone else moves right in.

Sunday, our favorite day, is also known here as 'Family Day.' As I've mentioned before, the locals work six days a week, so Sunday is their only day off. On Sunday, we see locals exploring the shoreline and swimming in the ocean. There's a few spots along our walk where they tend to congregate like Playa Caliette which is a tiny beach next door to the Trans Caribe ferry landing. There vendors on the streets on bicycles that cater primarily to Mexican locals. They sell things in plastic bags like cut fruit, sweets for kids, some kind of puffed pork snacks and deep fried mystery items - one of which we are told is called a Keebee (not sure on spelling.) Ian buys one of the keebee's, he has a small bite which he spits out, he says it tastes like oatmeal. We cut it open and it seems to have some meat inside, possibly pork, but in the end, he was too reluctant to actually eat it.

We had planned on golfing today since there is a special Sunday price, but my knee was a bit sore, so we've decide to golf another day. We walk downtown, the sidewalk is empty. We eat lunch at La Choza, a Mexican Home Cooking restaurant, a few streets off the main drag. Ian had noticed this place before and wanted to try it. Ian has their pork stew, while I enjoy grilled fish with rice and steamed veg. I don't know the type of fish, but it is white. The meal comes with some spicy cheese sauce with tortillas chips and soup. Ian has lime soup, I have chicken noodle. The chicken noodle was not what you think, it is flavored chicken broth with vermicilli, it is different but good. The lime is good too, it has green peppers and onions. Overall the food is authentic and very tasty, we would eat here again.

We look around in some of the tourist stores, Ian buys a new wallet. We pick up a couple of groceries then walk back to the condo. Ian takes a siesta. Sunset is very interesting today with clouds and colors. We chill out and eat leftovers. Another weekend in paradise has come to an end.
