Thursday, December 20, 2012 Today for us was a day of just relaxing at the hotel. I know this is hard to believe that the Breton’s are just sitting around, but we wanted to just relax today after a very long day on Wednesday, 7:00am – 10:00pm on a bus and touring.
I was up at my usual 6:00am sitting on the patio writing my waiting for my princesses to wake up. Cindy woke up at 7:30am. We did a lot of starring at the ocean and pool until 9:30am when we decided it was time to eat breakfast.
Breakfast was awesome at the hotel as usual. Cindy and I had similar items as Tuesday, but did try different items on the buffet. Today we did try a rice dish with beans. We finished breakfast around 10:30am, we certainly took our time, but that is good.
After breakfast I went to the concierge to make sure our dinner was on schedule for this evening. They promised we would be eating in one of the covered cabanas.
From 12:00 – 3:00pm Cindy and laid on the beach rotating between the ocean and hotel pool. Luckily we did
not get that sunburned. The ocean water was very comfortable. When I talked to Michael later in the day he thought the Pacific Ocean water would be cold since he remembered our spring break trip when the water in southern California was freezing cold.
Cindy returned to the hotel room; however I went back to the concierge to book a zip line tour for Friday late morning.
Our dinner was reserved for 5:15pm, 15 minutes before sunset. This was not your typical dinner, this was a dinner on the beach, in a cabana, surrounded by torches, candles arranged as a heart, and the shape of a heart made in the sand. All this with the beautiful sun setting below the Pacific Ocean. Words cannot describe the setting and mood of this dinner. Cindy and I have never done something like this before. The wait staff was super awesome and very concerned that we were happy with everything they were doing and wanted us to time each meal course the way we wanted it. Cindy had a steak dish and I had shrimp ravioli’s. Our meal started with a Gazpacho soup with cheese bread. For desert we had Cream
Brule, three separate flavors in small cappuccino cups with a small piece of sugar. I attached a photo of the desert.
I am so lucky to be able to share this evening with Cindy and celebrating our 25
th anniversary. I am the luckiest man alive to have Cindy in my life and to be able to share this special moment with her. A moment we will not forget.
Our main waiter at the dinner was supper nice. His name was Aljandero and constantly wanted to make sure we were always happy. He told us about his girlfriend and how he tried to explain to her what he does at the JW Marriott. He asked if he could take a photo of us to show is girlfriend to show what he does and then setup he did for us. This was really neat seeing someone take such pride in what they do every day.
The JW Marriott really did an awesome job setting the mood and provided excellent customer service. Our bellman told us about the special dinner we could have.
Cindy and I were asleep at 10:00pm. We were exhausted.
Tomorrow will be an adventure
day for us, zip lining. More to come tomorrow.
