After a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast James was back to his adventurous self and we got up early to cycle to the zoo. Chiang Mai zoo is set in a large woodland area and most of the animals looked happy and healthy. The elephants seemed a little distressed though and being chained to the footpath wasn't helping! The best bit was definitely seeing the pandas - the star attraction.
After a brief debate over train versus plane back to Bangkok we headed to pick up our tickets - you'll have to wait to find out which! Day 6 was rounded off with a street food dinner and a rather hectic stroll down the Saturday walking market. I hate to say it but this put the Wilmslow artisan market to shame!
Baileys bit
Not only did we see Pandas today we saw a Panda pooing, not many people can say that can they! We also saw our first road accident today, luckily not caused by us. Two bikes came together with one landing on the floor with the bike on top of him. Was there police, ambulance and fire engine you ask? No. After help getting up
the man checked himself over had a quick conversation and after a nod with the involved parties they were on their way!
Daily mileage: 6.2 started in the old city, think I ran past the women's prison day out as there were trucks full of women dressed in the same outfit and police were everywhere! The city is within a square canal so thought I would do a loop and head back in. It went well until I forgot where I came out so went round 1 and a bit times then turned in and luckily figured out where I was!
