Our departure date is getting closer! We don't actually have our tickets yet (our deadline is next tuesday, as it seems that tuesdays have been the cheapest arifare days... hope the waiting pays off!) but it looks like we will be leaving between october 30th and november 1st. And that means there is much to do! And one of the things that was highest up on Sadie's list was finishing work and (finally) quitting her extra-casting job at Hotel Cæsar, Scandinavia's longest running drama series. So now that at least one of us is unemployed, the packing and shopping and organizing can begin!
And of course there are the prerequisite parties to be had. First on the list was Thanksgiving, a tradition we started only last year but that we had to repeat before we left (hence celebrating it in the middle of october as oposed to the end of november). We managed to cram 8 of us at the dinner table in the living room of our tiny house, but the food and company were a succes, if we may say so ourselves 😊 It's great to be able to spend some time with friends now, as we don't
know how long it will be until next time!
The next two weeks will be full of activity and decisions. In the end we will probably pack things we don't need, forget things we do, and have to compromise on some things... but isn't that just the beginning of an adventure? We kind of have to keep reminding ourselves that we can always figure out pretty much anything on the way... even though we
are weird and try to keep to a low-carb diet (and are heading straight for the lands of rice) and Øyvind has diabetes and we will be traveling with enough insulin to support a lifelong sugar addiction 😉 But what is life without challenges?
Here we come!
