Got them
Bruce harvests some watermelon. this food keeps us going during our long hauls and is so refreshing Today,Monday 27th, we sailed into the Marina at Kos, a large island that is only a little way of the Turkish coast. So, I have seen Turkey for the first time, and it our intention to head down and island hop over the next few days and get into Maramis in a weeks time. Last night we stayed in a bay with a number of others at anchor a very small island called Levitha. One of lifes experiences. i would be very surprised if i ever eat in a Tavina like this one ever again. There is nothing in site from the bay but we had been told that there was a Tavina about 20 minutes walk away. this was at the farm which was the only dwelling on the island. we went ashore and others from other yaghts were going as well. We had to walk through the rocks up a track that worked its way up throught he tussock and rock walls and we noticed that there were sheep in the dryed up paddock. We got to the Tavina and were welcomed by the owner who also runs the island as a farm and they have a fishing boat
decisions
What to eat. We are amazing at making decisions at what we will eat. It only takes about 4 beers and 30 minutes. Then we just share. as well. Over drinks we got to talk to a lot off the other people and we all agreed that this was a unique place. It has been in the same family for over 350 years. He was very proud of the fact that he had 126 sheep which he milked by hand for 2 months of the year. He then found out that Bruce Robert and Ross were sheep farmers, but was abit dumbfounded when told that they had more than 10,000 sheep each. There was no menu so food just came out as we finished a platter. salads, lamb, fish, meatballs and various other misteries. Amazing night with plenty of laughs and talk. I will get another blog out tomorrow as we will be remainiing here for a couple of days.
