It was one of those days you wish to forget. The kind that makes you rethink your entire travel itinerary. It rains cat's and dog's all day and even the locals were losing their smile. We had not seen the sun for almost four days and what was at first a lovely city was now becoming a dark and grey jail where all ideas of happiness and joy where taking away from you.
When I was about to give up, something truly beautiful happen. I ran up the stairs of the building we were in and start staring at what looks unreal. The clouds were fading away and the sky was turning orange. The sun was reflecting on the water on the grass and it was making you almost blind. Less than twenty minute later, as I was standing on the edge of the structure, the sun slowly start going down over London. I should normally have been afraid. The building was not that high, but one wrong move would have been nonetheless quite painful, if not fatal. But, I stayed there in silence, looking at the sun until it was too dark to stay there longer.
When I went out of the building, the streets were buzzing. I kept walking on the south bank, looking at the Tower Bridge, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the London Eye on the way. I finally stop at a little pub in front of the parliament call St. Stephen Tavern. I sat at the bar and ask for a pint of Pride. The pub was full, people were drinking quite heavily and you could see mass of people just outside the pub with a cup of wine or a beer in their hands. The waitress, a stunning blond girl of about 25 years old wearing a black skirt and a pair of boots that could only look nice on her, was running from one side to the other of the bar. Food was coming out at a fast pace from the kitchen. I stayed there for a couple hours with some mates I just met and slept well that night.
The next days were just as great as that evening. We spent loads of time shopping in Camden Town and Nothing hill and only taking refuge inside museums when the occasional shower was coming to warn us that we
should make the best of our time because it wasn't last forever. London I still love you.
