Before I update you on Haley's visit, including the boat to Panama, I'll give you a bit of a job update. Since I've been back, I've been offered a bunch of jobs.

I told my super friendly neighbor and this owner of this super yummy Japanese restaurant about what had happened to me at the hostel. Right away, they gave me soo much hope, ensuring me that my friendly face could get something in no time. The Japanese restaurant owner immediately told me to go over to Media Luna Hostel, my hostel's biggest competitor, to get a job there as he knows the owner and to tell him he sent me. Since then, that hostel has been trying to get a hold of me to come work for them, even reaching out to other people they found out who knows me! I just haven't done anything yet since I've been out of town, but more so because I rather go back to teaching English before I go back to 6 days a week for peanuts.

My new roomate's uncle also offered me a job putting his hostel and hotel on the internet. He said if I get people in both places, I would be set for life.

My friends at the hostel also wrote down a bunch of places I could go look for jobs, both at hostels/hotels and at English schools. One of my other friends also has an in at a big hotel, and is going to try to get me a job there.

Better yet, my new roomie David is a model. He has been telling me for a while that I should model. Well one day, before Haley's arrival, Juan Manuel calls me and tells me to be-friend David on facebook, and be ready to get picked up to model in about 20 minutes. David had recommended me to his agency and they just needed to see pictures of me. So I be-friended David on facebook so they could see pictures and about an hour later, I was picked up by one of the cute and gay producers and my other roomate Monica. We dropped her off at work, and away we went to an unknown location. I seriously didn't think I was on my way to shooting a TV commercial. I thought I was just getting photos done at the agency so they could have me on file (just another round of lost in translation I suppose). The producer immediately told me he loved me but he was gay. Lol! About 30 minutes in and still driving, I decided I should ask where the heck we were going and about to do! He told me that I was about to be on a TV commercial for Colombia's biggest lottery company. We were on our way to this awesome mansion on the beach, located about an hour outside of town. Everyone was already there and they were about to start shooting!

When we arrived, it was lunch time (it was really 3pm). So I got fed a nice big meal before going for hair and makeup. They feed models?! Actually, the models here aren't stick thin, they're sexy, curvy and freaking gorgeous (ha! then there's me: all awkward, tall and lanky). I went to change into this bathing suit they gave me, got my hair and makeup done, and was told to lie next to the pool and "look sexy" -which is hilarious to me because compared to these other girls, I should not be chosen as "the sexy" one. The setting of the commercial was a backyard of mansion located right on the coast, and we were the party (everyone was my age). Actually, everyone was partying but me, I was to look sexy by the pool while another guy floated in the pool. Oh, and my friend David was to sit next to me "talking" me up. Haha!

A few hours later, we finally finished and were fed again -still can't get over that one! The best part: EVERYONE, including the models, had to be there that day at 5am. They did absolutely nothing but eat and sleep, until they were ready to start shooting at around 4:30PM!!! I super lucked out by rolling up at 3pm in time for some grub and just had to scoop into position for a few short hours!

We're still waiting to get paid, it should be a fair amount but of course, I have no idea. I heard lots of numbers being thrown around. I'm also not sure when it'll air. I asked the cute producer that was in love with me, but with his faulty English, he wound up telling me it would be 15 years to one month! Lol! I'm thinking it'll be sometime in the Spring! Guess we'll have to wait and see! The good news is that he told me he would have work for me (which he actually did already, but I was in Panama, shoot!).
