Well the trip is fantastic. Flight to Anchorage was 3 hours and evening in Anchorage was really great. A couple from Singapore sat with me which was super interesting as they had done a trip to Egypt and a Nile Cruise a few years back. Sorry Karen didn't get to sit with them actually as she is planning her trip to Singapore in January. Incredible people and they were with a group of about 30. They had seen the rockies and were now headed for Mt. McKinley. The sun was still high in the sky at 9 p.m. in Anchorage. We had dinner at a pub and watched Hercs doing circuits over the bay area. Huge planes and appeared to be flying in slow motion. Saturday we took the train from Anchorage to Whittier which was quite beautiful and saw 2 moose and one guy rock climbing above the highway. Whittier was pretty clear. We met a few people who were with a large group of 26 from New Zealand. We got to chat them up a bit as some of that group was heading to Vancouver Island before they headed home. Of course told them to check out the west coast and Tofino. We sailed into Hubbard Glacier....the clouds lifted and it was incredible...We got super close to the Glacier. 300 feet high and 6 miles long. Very hard to get perspective on it. Monday we were in Glacier Bay. Saw a seal swimming as we entered the bay and later got some pics of an eagle and gulls sitting on the ice in front of Marjorie Glacier. Got pics of the glacier calving. Another incredible opportunity as the clouds lifted here as well. Absolutely beautiful blue skies and green glacier water. We were outside all day and think we did about 8 miles of walking. Finished the night off in the casino and then a drink... Will add pictures later as unable to from this computer. Today is Skagway....love this trip. Tomorrow we are in Juneau and going to go whale watching.
