It wasn't an overly early nor, for once, dramatic start to the day. There was no 3:00am drive to The Valley Private Hospital, no road works and no delays.

Jess and her mum arrived at mine at 8:00am on the dot like was promised and an hour later we were parked and standing inside Terminal 2 in search of our check-in counter. While I rearranged some items in my baggage Jess had made her way over to a bunch of school kids, one of which was her cousin who also happened to be on our same flight with Jetstar to Singapore.

We checked in our bags, got our boarding passes and made our way to the gates where we said goodbye and see you in 16 days to Jess' mum.

We made it through passport control fast enough then made our way to fill in a short amount of time at our gate, while grabbing some Hungry Jacks for breakfast on the way.

Our flight was due to depart at 11:00am but we left about 25mins late, pretty good for Jetstar really. Before we knew it were were crusing along the South Australian coast line and up through Western Australia. We passed over Port Headland then over Indonesia before 8hours later arriving in muggy Singapore.

We had a little bit of time to fill in before our connecting flight to Ho Chi Minh City so spent it working out that the chocolate in Singapore is way too expensive and something we didn't really need.

We boarded our flight at 7:55pm and arrived in Ho Chi Minh City at 9:00pm. We breezed through customs and waited for about 20mins to collect our luggage but it was a lovely sight when it came out on the belt. We made our way out to the arrivals hall to see our lovely transfer driver standing there with a sign with our names on it. We jumped in his 4WD and made our way though the crazy drivers to our hotel for the next 4 nights, Mifuki Hotel and Spa.

We checked in and made our way to our room, #303. We unpacked a little, checked out the room, put our stuff in the safe then made our way in search of some dinner. Jess wasn't feeling it for the local cuisine tonight so instead, we hit up Subway. Yup, Subway.

After dinner we did a brief walk around before returning to the hotel for the use of their free wireless, a shower and some shut eye for some exciting days ahead.
