Cooking Class, making Gnocchi

Monday 4 June

Class went well today, so my weekend study efforts paid off. Woo hoo!

I joined some others from the school to attend a cooking class this evening. We made gnocchi (potato dumplings), from scratch. Never been a big fan of gnocchi, but they were very light and all the vegetables and sauces we prepared to go with them made them very tasty.

The view from this restaurant is superb. See the photo of the hills through the greenery (the one where you can just see the top of San Biagio church peeping through), well this is from the restaurant – also the photo of the sunset is from the exact same position a little later in the evening.

See also the photos of the old Estrucan church attached to this restaurant. The wine cellars are under the church. Check out the walls down in the cellars. Truly amazing that these places are so old and so many people over hundreds and hundreds of years have walked the same footsteps that I did, to get down there. Some history, views and experiences are just so overwhelming that it’s hard to take it all in.
