So it begins...

We arrived at 3am local time on thursday. The minute we steped out of the airport the heat hit us in the face which after a long old flight was a bit much so we piled straight into a lovely air conditioned cab and headed to our friend Mike's flat.

Poor mike had to be up for work at 7am so it was a quick catch uo then bed. Jord and I woke up after a lovely lay in (Mike has given up his bed for the time we are here) and hit the pool. there are three infinity pools downstairs that are perfect to cool off in but the ground is soo hot its difficult getting in them as you dont want to touch the floor!

When Mike got in later on it was time to hit the booze at the flat with Gina his lovely flatmate. She sorted me out with a dress as I only have slob clothes with me then we hit a tribal/afircan themed club called Mahiki. Drinks are soooo expensive out here that we had done enough pre drinking to get straight on the dance floor. In total a lovely chilled start followed by a fantsatic evening for our first day abroad.

Sat was not so chilled we went straight out to what these lot call a 'brunch' which is basically four hours of eating and drinking. It was a leaving meal for one of Mike's collegues and so there was a tonne of people there, all dolled up and all really nice. Everyone seems to be going somewhere or doing something different. After the meal we went to a bar called observatory which is on the 52nd floor of a hotel. It overlooks Dubai Marina and you can see the Atlantis hotel, its just an amazing view. After along night/day we left and were home in bed for 8 haha😊 The problem out here is that its so hot inside and you start thinking 'i'll go get some cold outside' only to realise thats its about 10 times hotter outside than in, makes you tired!

Today we spent the morning in the pool followed by a trip to the market where they sell everything and anything designer that looks proper decent! I learned Im not a fan of the bartering. We also went to the biggest mall in the world and saw:

the tallest buidling in the world

the biggest indoor ski slope

the biggest single piece of glass (in a aquarium in the mall!)

a hugeee las vegas style fountain display

and loads of other cool stuff!

Of to Bangkok in the morining after a top couple of days. Was wicked seeing Mike and im not too burnt.

Bye for now!
