4/23/2012 - Left the motorhome around 11am headed to St Jacobs Well. This is a natural well out in the rolling hills of Kansas which has never been known to dry up and also no one knows how deep it is. It is known to have been visited by peoples of this area and those traveling through for hundreds of years. The water is a clear brown color. The imagination can run wild while standing by the well. While in this area of the Big Basin Reserve, we did some riding looking for the bison. One road was washed out at a draw, so Aleta says I went back to my teen years - - - she covered her eyes and I made a new road up out of the draw. Once safely on top, Jack followed and got 'er done also :-). We did find the bison at some distance away with no way to get closer.

Made it to the Dalton Gang Hideout after a stop at Bob's Drive In which has been in business for 44 years. The Dalton Hideout was somewhat interesting as it was their sister's house with a tunnel 95 ft long leading from the house to the barn with both ends hidden from view. No one was aware of the tunnel until new owners of the house were surprised by men showing up in the house unexpected who came through the tunnel.

Later we went to Wal-Mart for a few items, Jack grilled chicken on the grill, we watched Dancing With The Stars to end the day.

Family Update
Aleta and Shelby, Missing you both but know you are enjoying yourselves! Our granddaughter broke her leg and ankle sliding into homeplate at the softball field. Our son-in-law tore all the tendons in his elbow in a Weightlifting Championship in Atlanta. He had surgery on his elbow, including pins to tie the tendon back. May 2, he goes in for surgery as they removed a mole from his back that is stage 4 Melanoma. My grandson was fishing with his Mom and an aggressive turtle came up behind her (she was sitting on the bank) and grabbed her shirt. My grandson took out his knife to try and get the turtle loose; he stabbed himself in the left arm...pretty deep cut...had to go have stitiches etc. My granddaughter, who has Crohn's Disease has has a flare up and is scheduled for testing and possible surgery next Friday. My daughter had a blockage in her head and had to have angio-plasty...she is doing better today. I am happy to tell you that Max and I are fine, Max has his garden planted, grass looks like carpet, all my flowers are planted and we are really enjoying this beautiful Spring! Hope to hear from you again soon. We enjoy the updates; thanks for including us.
