After leaving Kruger Park, driving south, we entered yet another African country: Swaziland. First on the agenda was to clean the camper. The dirt roads in Kruger made a red dusty mess of both the inside and the outside of the camper.

Frequently, on the roadside, you see CAR WASH- at some very unlikely spot. The first one we saw, we pulled in. There was a tap for water, with a hose, some buckets, and one guy who looked VERY ragged. The price- 50 Rand- (South American Currency) equivalent to about $6. Cdn. Mark commited to the deal.

Immediately, about 4 other guys showed up- they all took buckets and rags- and proceeded to clean the camper like it had never been cleaned. They scrubbed- sprayed and dried it- even under the wheel wells- the tires- they even asked us to open the doors so they could do the door jams- I'm sure they would have cleaned the inside had we asked! All this for $6-??? We felt bad, and so doubled the money for them. Even so- for $12. - I don't think you could get such a thorough job in Stouffville! They were of course thrilled with the extra cash!

We spent one night in Milwane Wildlife Sanctuary in Swaziland. We met our first Americans here- a family that live here- working at a mission. Originally from Maine, we shared “snow “ stories. They are here for 4 years- with 2 ½ left. We did hear stories of how sick the kids in the mission are- mostly from Aids- or aids related illnesses. It is the African culture to have many children both as a sign of wealth- as well as- to receive the government child benefit. That way, Mom & dad don't have to work!

Go figure!

The scenery was wonderful. Check out the pics of the green , mountainous area. Enjoy.

Next stop was Hluhluwe -Imfolozi- Park. It's hard to think of different things to say- each day we drive a bit, look at animals and scenery. The best thing I can do is share the pictures with you.

Enjoy!
