Update from Casa Grande

Yep; we’re in Casa Grande, Arizona. We have been here a week; and what a week it has been.

The same day we arrived, on December 1, we took our sweet Shaddy to the vet; his vet in C G; the same one we took him too last year when we were here.

We were worried about him on account of his yelping in pain from time to time. It turned out to be impacted anal glands. They were expressed, he was given a prescription and ointment, and he is doing fine now.

Nan has gone to the Woodworking Group a couple of times. She is the only female in the group, and the only chip carver. She likes the group because the members shy away from religion and politics. What’s left? Sports!

I’ve been active in lawn bowling, the primary reason we are at Palms Creek. What a wonderful, enjoyable sport. I won two mugs for being lucky on the courts. Nan has advised me that we may not have room for many more trophies. Members of the group are mostly from Canada, where there is a lot of lawn bowling. Maybe we can FedEx the trophy mugs to the homestead, Eh?

I’ve come down with a tooth ache, and will see a local dentist next week. I had a telephone consult with my regular dentist, and there was not much he could do over the phone, but wish me well and recommend a medication regimen.

Both Nan and I are enjoying out 12 speed bikes which we brought along with us. We have a little trailer for Shaddy to ride in behind my bike. How sweet is that?

During our first week, the night time temps have been close to freezing. We leave the kitchen faucet dripping in hope that the water hose to the 5^th wheel will not freeze up. So far, so good. Last year, we spent the month of December in warmer Yuma, and we may have to revisit that strategy again, next winter.
