"For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12).

The message of the gospel "is the power of God unto salvation" (Romans 1:16). When this sword is wielded it cuts the human heart. The conscience of man is stirred. In Acts 2:37 some listeners "were pricked in their heart" and on that day "about three thousand souls" (Acts 2:41) were added to the number of the saved. On another occasion, some hearing the word "were cut to the heart" but they violently rejected both the message and the messenger (Acts 7:54-60).

God has been blessing us with opportunities to teach this powerful word to many. For quite a few weeks, Charles and Carey have been teaching Christopher. He has been in some leadership position in a local denomination. He had many questions about the Holy Spirit. Each class he was given pure New Testament teaching. The power of the word was working on his heart.

He was very seriously considering his need for obedience

to the gospel. He had come to the resolution that he needed to say his farewells and to relieve himself of any duties with this group.
But he called Charles and indicated that those things should not stand in the way of his urgent need. He was ready to obey.

Once again we made our familiar journey to the river. After he came from the waters we all stood in the sand and had a prayer together. Christopher was just beaming.

Joy spent some time upon our return making some banana bread to take as a gift. That evening, after we knew Christopher would be home from his work, all five of us walked from our house to visit our new brother. We found his wife just outside the door of their home cooking over a coal pot. We were welcomed inside where we sat and visited and Joy presented the bread to his wife. Christopher made a short speech of greeting us. We met his children in a customary way. They came to us one at a time and said "Shikamoo" (meaning - "I give you my respect") and we bent down so the children could touch the top of our heads with both their hands. It is so precious to see even very small children who have been trained to respect their elders.

Please keep Christopher in your prayers as he is further grounded in the faith. We pray this new brother will have an influence on many others.

To God be the glory, it is a very happy day when another soul is snatched from satan. You all are in our prayers and we pray that Christopher will receive the much needed encouragement in the days, weeks, months and years to come. He too will be in our prayers.
