Our view from the ferry of Milos
Hello from Melissa! We have all arrived safely in Milos.

Our day began hustling to pack all our items neatly back up in 6 backpacks and 2 rolling suitcases. The metro station was but a block away so 8 girls loaded themselves up with there luggage and purchased their 80 cent (euro) metro ticket to the ferry port. The Metro is very clean and fast, as we think it was redone for the latest Olympics in Greece. The ferry port is huge as it is used for passenger ferries and cargo ferries. Luckily, we booked a super fast ferry so our trip ahead was just 4 hours.

Our 4 hours were spent reading, sleeping, and enjoying the beautiful scenery as we approached various islands. The Sea here is so incredible as the colors are so bright and clear. Approaching our final destination for the day, Milos all 8 of us headed outside to challenge the wind in order to see the most amazing island come into sight.

Since the island is only inhabited by 1500 residents and their main industries are tourism, mining, and fishing, Milos will be the quietest of the islands that we visit. Our hotel

owners picked us up and showed us our cute rooms where we were fitted with 2 single beds, a hotplate, fridge, closet, and shower with a detachable head that you have to hold yourself!

All of us had our next activity picked out, THE BEACH! We all wanted to head out where the amazing beaches! Destination: 30 minute walk. A quick stop at the grocery store to pick up a picnic lunch and we headed out. 30 minutes turned more into an hour walk in the noon sunshine so we were ready to jump in the water! The beaches contained amazing white rocks which were against the water jumping out. There are absolutly no words to describe how amazingly beautiful the water, beaches, and island are.

On our walk we sighted the cute houses with brick white washed with a blue tint. And the locals waved or honked hello. The way back was not so fun as walking in the sun knowing it was 40 minutes at least was not the adventure we wanted after baking the sun. Luckily we all made it.

Since we were not getting picked up by the kayaking group until 10:15 we

had our first night out on the town together. We had appetizers at one restaurant, Greek Salads at another and beers at a third. We met various locals, including the restaurant owner at one place! We finished our night off with dancing with the Greeks and eachother.

All and all another amazing day here in Greece! I can't wait til tomorrow and our next adventure.

More soon! Miss ya all!

Luv, Melissa
