Andy says: So we’re now less than two weeks to go until the trip starts which is scary but amazing at the same time! I’ve spent the last couple of weeks sorting my life out so now most of my stuff is boxed up at my mum’s, the visa’s have been applied for, have now got my money sorted (I’m pretty much a Thai millionaire now) and I finish work this Friday. You would think – oh that’s good he’s given himself a week to get everything sorted before he leaves – well you’d be wrong because I decided to stick in a cheeky trip to Barcelona next week to watch the AC Milan game. Not the best idea in terms of finance or timings but I’ve always wanted to see a match at the Nou Camp and they don’t come much bigger than that! It does mean that next week I’m there Tuesday and Wednesday, have Thursday at home and then back to the airport first thing Friday morning to fly out again!
Other than that a lot of time over the last few weeks has been spent in the West End catching some shows that I wanted
to see before I left. Jersey Boys and We Will Rock You were amazing but got totally eclipsed by Rock Of Ages which we saw last week. It was so good we’re going back again this week to catch it again before we leave!
Anyways, obviously these postings will get more exciting when we actually leave the country but for now it’s back to a tense match of Foil Ball In A Glass at our desks…
Dan says: Ok, right now Im not too fussed about this whole blog thing but once I’m away I’m going to make sure everyday is logged one way or another so I can have a full recollection of my travels!
I think only this week has it really sunk in the I will be leaving for Thailand in over a week…THAILAND! Right now I’m still thinking of it as a holiday but after 2 weeks when I realise I’m not coming back for another 2 months I think it will sink in…CAN’T WAIT.
Being my first ever travel experience my biggest worry is making sure I’ve got everything so this weekend is major packing time – so I say,
probably end up sleeping until 12 then playing Football Manager for the rest of the day, then worrying on Sunday night that I haven’t done anything, ah well that’s life!
I am off to see Rock of Ages AGAIN in the West End as well this weekend, 2nd time in the space of a week! Definitely worth seeing at least once if you love a bit of 80’s Glam Rock!
Anyway this is going to be my last post until I get to Heathrow Airport on next Friday morning, so as Andy says its back to playing foil in a cup game…We are tied 1-1 at the moment and are both on match point! EXCITING TIMES...
