Fathers Day, and Frank is doing a service and oil change on the car before we go into the outback. It is handy having a multi-skilled member of the touring team.
Our day started with a MacGuiver episode. Not the real MacGuiver (aka Frank), but the one on TV. If there is a TV in front of him, it seems Frank must have it turned on. We all have our obsessions. Currently mine seems to be watching the temperature of the fridge going up and down on the remote receiver for the digital thermometer I bought for the fridge. I can sit and watch it for ten minutes. Tragic really. At least it is working at present.
Today being Fathers Day, we had a lovely restful day. A visit to The Sunday County Market at Redcliffs was successful with the purchase of freshly picked asparagus and some locally produced chilli Mettwurst. BBQ lunch with a glass of wine at Trentham Winery on the banks of the Murray River was very pleasant indeed. We bypassed the wine-tasting today. As it was, I slept of the wine on the drive home. Laundry is done and panty restocked in preparation for our planned departure tomorrow.
Life in a caravan park is very interesting. There are many new people to meet, stories to tell and ideas to share. Our van has caused a lot of interest

We had a lovely lunch at the winery. They provided the meat and salad, at a price, and we cooked it. It was a lovely day, and again we spent time enjoying the splendour of the Murray River.
amongst the caravanning community here. We have done several tours through it, with some very positive feedback. Our pride helps compensate for the embarrassment of the pop-top incident the other day.
It is very warm in this part of the word during the day. How athletes go from a cold climate to a hot one during international sporting events, I will never know. At a guess, I would say it has taken four days to adapt to the warm weather in Mildura, and it isn’t even that hot. At least we will be prepared for the hotter weather as we venture north.
I wonder what tomorrow holds in store for us. New destinations and new problems most likely.
