Dear all,

Yes,... I'm away on my travels again!

First, I have taken the liberty of adding new email addresses to my subscribers, if anyone (new or old) would like to be unsubscribed from my updates (and you're not able to do this yourselves) please contact me and I can remove your e-mails from the list. Don't worry, I wont be offended.... I know that my blogs can be lengthy at times and you lead busy lives... or it may be that I haven't spoken to you in years and therefore, I probably won't be that @rsed anyway!

To all of you who stay with me... Welcome!

So, as some of you may know, I recently relocated to Manchester and returned to University to study a Masters in International Development. My course concentrates on conflict and reconstruction. Im studying part-time to give me more chance to enjoy the finer things in life (student living, drinking, sleeping,... and volunteering!) I've finished the first year and have three months off over the summer before starting my second (final) year. In this time, I thought it would be a good idea to get some more worldly experience... and so...

I'll be spending the next 6 weeks in the West Bank!

Woohoo for Clare, I hear you cry... no?! For those who's initial thought was "Is she mad?!"... think again! For anyone who is interested, I would ask that you bear with me through my (sometimes lengthy, food obsessed, erratic) blogs, and read with an open mind.

There is a lot of good work that can be done to help many people all over the world, no matter where they live, what they look like, what religion they follow, what language they speak or whether the Western world support their views or not. I come to this Country as a person who is wants to help people who need help.

I'll be volunteering my time between two organisations in and around Bethlehem. I'll be able to tell you more about it as I go along (internet connection permitting!).

However, in the two days that I've been here, I've already seen some amazing sights and I've been taken aback by how friendly and welcoming the people are - I'm very excited to explore this beautiful Country some more in the coming weeks!

Not to mention the food... starting with the kebab that I had on my first night and the freshly squeezed Jaffa orange juice that I had for breakfast! (I had to get a food mention in somewhere!)

On that note....

Keep in touch with your thoughts/feedback/news in your part of the world! More to follow soon!
Love, Clare x
