We left Whitehorse early and after stopping at the rapids below the lake I got an extreme case of drowsiness and told the others to drive on while I napped and that I would catch up with them later. I drove on til I was 60 miles from Dawson City where I parked at a place called Gravel Lake for the night and donated blood to the local mosquito population. Next morning it took an hour to drive to Dawson City where I drove around, did some shopping, took some pictures and then rode the free ferry accros the Yukon River to the provincial park where I had a nice campsite right on the river. Just downstream from the campground was a sternwheeler graveyard where three large boats were rotting away in the underbrush.

It turns out somehow I had gotten in front of the group and they were stuck on the other side of the river by 2 group caravans waiting on the ferry. The next day I took the trip back to Dawson City to look around and visit the casino. All cell phones wouldn't work so I had no way of contacting anyone.

The next morning I decided to drive on along the Top of the World Highway toward Tok Alaska and managed to catch up with the group just before crossin the border back into the U.S.. We drove to Chicken Alaska where we ate and then on to Tok in the early afternoon.

It sure looks like your all having fun. I wish I could be there, but I am having lots of fun with my Grand daughter. See you at Death Valley or Q.
