Claudia playing piano
In many of the pointless, random things I did today, I took this picture of Claudia playing the piano. She is really really good at it! You might be thinking, what? Life is hard? Why, Stan, would life be so hard in Italy?
Well, here is the reason: I just thought it sounded like a catchy title to today's entry.
It is Sunday, meaning that it is the only day of the week that there is no school. So I felt like I did absolutely nothing today.
I mean if I really think about it, I did do a lot, but comparatively to the past week, not that much. I could probably do today's entry fairly quickly. There is a good side and a bad side to this. The bad side is today's entry will boring probably. The good is that it will be short if it is boring.
Before I get started, in reference to my "Venezia!" video from the 3rd of June, there is something you can try to get it to work if it is not already. If you open the blog entry and the video screen shows some sort of message saying you need to download the newest version of Flash player, either (a) you really do need it and you should get it, or (b) ignore the error
Small car
I just love this small car. So I posted another picture of it. Enjoy :) and click on the name of the video that is in blue on the top right corner of the video screen. This should bring up the video. Hopefully that works! I have heard that some people could see it today without me actually trying to fix it or something, so maybe it'll be the same for you. It might have just been a problem on this website.
But anyways, here is a rundown of today:
---Wake up around 10:00 AM (PM would be just silly)
---Have some breakfast, hang around the house
---Play Super Smash Bros with Claudia (It was funny because all of the voices of the English speaking characters were in Italian. I think Mario and Luigi were the same though...)
---Eat some lunch (Oh! I told Elena that I was Truffaldino in The Servant of Two Masters written by Carlos Goldoni, who was born in Venezia (Venice). She was pretty excited about that and went off on how each of his characters were meant to come from different places depending on the different mask that they wear (like Brighella and Pantalone). I also figured out that, since I can pronounce Italian correctly now, I was
pronouncing my character's name wrong in the play the whole entire time! Ah, dura la vita...) (Oh! When we were on the topic of name origins, they asked me if my family came from Holland. I said "no lo so" (I don't know) and they told me they thought so because my last name is "DeVore" which, in Holland, all of the last names are "De (space) ______". Interesting. If they are right, it's weird they know more about my heritage than I do! I might have to work on that... )
---Study Italian so I can understand what people are saying and not be the dumb American who knows no Italian at all anymore 😊 (Ok, yes, it's still very nerdy)
---Watch and episode of House on my computer (Good one, may I add)
---Go to downtown Rovigo with Paolo, hang around, take turns riding in that same little car (see the pictures), play that same card game from yesterday (the name always slips my mind!)
---Tommy drives Paolo and I home, all the while talking about how dangerous Round-abouts are in Rovigo, and learning interesting superstitions having to do with passing ambulances and grabbing certain parts of the
Floating Cigarette Butt
While we were playing the card game, one of Paolo's friends flicked his butt and it started to float in mid-air. Strange...
The spider thought so too. body... let's not go there.
---Eat dinner (chicken!) and talk about food.
---Watch some Sherlock Holmes (in Italian) and some "I survived" type of show (in Italian)
---Type a blog entry
So yeah. That's pretty much it. Not very exciting in terms of doing things I haven't done before...
Anyways, If there is ANYTHING I can do to make my blogs more interesting for you reading, either COMMENT or MESSAGE me on this entry and let me know what I can do, or COMMENT or MESSAGE me on Facebook, letting me know what I can do. I'm so tired when I write half of these that I can get a little... boring. I think. Sometimes I make typos and lose the humor and I just can't wait for a blog to be done.
So yeah. Sometimes I tend to want to end a blog entry in the middle of a
