As we strive to spread the message of the simple New Testament gospel, we are constantly encouraged by our Lord’s promise, recorded in Matthew 7:7, 8. Jesus assured us that “every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth....” Our Heavenly Father is able to search the hearts of all men, and He is aware of those who have a disposition to seek to know His will.

We want to be ready vessels, to be used to deliver the precious message, “that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves” (2 Corinthians 4:7). One way we are attempting to make the word known, is by offering Bible classes to all who are interested. We have chosen two locations, and conduct special classes each Saturday. At ten o’clock in the morning we have a session here in the area where we live called Mtwivila. There is a school for the deaf (Shule Ya Viziwi) where we have been allowed to use a classroom. Last Saturday marked our fifth week of classes. We have been having a small group of non-Christians attend. We also have some Christians attending with us.

Our second location is down from town in the area of Ipogolo. This is where the church building is located, and we use the building for the classes. We repeat the same lesson in each location. I have been teaching the morning session and Carey is the instructor for the afternoon session which begins at 3:00 p.m. We have non-Christians and Christians attending at the church building. We have been covering a survey of the Old Testament, and plan to continue next with a New Testament survey. We have scheduled classes to be able to finish the N.T. survey before our family goes for a short teaching trip to Malawi in August (more about that in another report).

The great need for Bible teaching is illustrated by the fact that most all attendees cannot locate Books in the Bible. We were particularly embarrassed by the fact that even some members of the church who are attending cannot find their way around the Bible. One brother could not find the Book of Mark! This just underscores the need for teaching and training of saint and sinner alike. We know that God desires for “all men to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). I have a valid concern that many who are worshipping with the Lord’s church likely were coerced into submitting to “the act” of immersion without having come to the knowledge of the truth.

Please keep these efforts in your prayers as we herald the message at these two locations and also from house to house.

God Bless you all and protect you.
Thank you ever so much for sharing your experiences. I will pass the link along for others to read and also pray for God's blessings for you and your family. All these 'blogs', 'social links' etc. are very different from one another. I am very slowly trying to learn to use Facebook, but still stumbling around in it. These various blog sites and social links are a wonderful entrance and opportunity to tell people about Jesus, The Christ. Have you thought of taping your classes? Video or just audio. So it may be played over and over and may even reach more people when you are not even there. I know it will cost more more financially plus take more time and effort, but I was thinking to maximize your wonderful efforts. I came late in learning about Jesus, 1987 baptized, and now at 80 years feel a sense of urgent need to spread the word especially now with technological advances being so very useful in this area. Solar energy for small equipment is quite feasible and if protected re-useable. Some Companies may donate equipment to your cause. Praise the Lord and give thanks that there are some willing to truly give their lives in working for the Lord. May He keep you all well and guide your way.
