We knew we were in for a long day but this one was an exceptional long one. We left Etten-Leur about 8.45 a.m., and had a good run to the border. The later it became the more traffic appeared on the road. We special went on the Sunday for there is no truck traffic. They are not allowed between Saturday midday and Sunday midnight. Only special transport and Freezer or anything to do with food. But hitting the German autobahns and you are there before you know, for there are no borders the fun really starts. You can have three or four lanes the most outside one is the racing track. There you find the Mercedes, BMW, Audi and a few other ones that like to keep up. We are sitting on about 130 kilometers an hour when they pass you it looks you are standing still. We plotted along till we found that it was coffee time and nature was calling as well. We are very careful by parking in such a way we can keep an eye on it. To go to the toilets you will need 50 Euro cents that will give you a ticket to go through the turn stalls. There you find perfectly clean toilets. That is all mechanical. You just wave your hands and things start operate. You get soap, paper and while doing that I saw a mechanical arm coming out the wall that cleans the toilet seat. The seat turns around and there you are, a very clean seat, ready for the next customer. That is not all, with the ticket of 50 Euro cents you go back into the roadhouse for a coffee and from the the price of the coffee they deduct the 50 cents. It certainly amazed us. We had a second encounter4 with this amazing setup but there was such a row for coffee that we decided on a bowl of soup instead. That was better too for we had a while to go still. The Garmin took us to our Tirolean Bed & Breakfast. A petite girl received u and spoke good English. She booked us in and showed a nice modern room with a real shower. That evening we finished the day with a nice meal in the Hotel dinner room. We had a small problem with the salad. They seem to have a problem with the cucumbers in Germany. They have some food poisoning, but they assured us that their cucumbers were okay, We stay here a few days, it is picture pretty in this area. We will come back later with another report. Bye for now Liz & Allan
