Today Steve and I headed off to Buckingham Palace. We had a lovely time wandering around in the surrounds. There was a huge water fountain in front of the Palace Gates. There was also quite a bit of security around the place, as expected. We were suprised by the fact that the area beside the Palace was over-grown and untidy. It looked out of place to have this overgrown area here beside the Palace.
We then walked to Hyde Park and spent some time at the Diana Memorial Fountain. It was lovely in Hyde Park, very relaxing. There were lots of people enjoying the sunshine.
After our stroll around Hyde Park we went in search of a new camera. It was getting close to 12.30 by this time and we had organized to meet cousin Chris at 1pm at the London Eye.
We then met up with Chris. We recognized each other from across the other side of the park!! We enjoyed a long lunch and a big chat and then Chris had to get back to work. 😞
Steve and I then went on the London Eye. It was fabulous. The weather was great and we could see for miles. They get quite a few people in each of the pods.
We then wandered over to take some pictures of Westminster Abbey and walked back to our accommodation. We were too tired to go out in the evenings as our legs were aching.
We had had another full and enjoyable day.

it was wonderful
It was great to see you both and I'm not surprised you were tired - I blame Jason's tours (not that I've ever met the man!) Thanks for making time to meet me; it was great. See you again soon. xx As a Londonder, I'd like to apologise for the long cross - I'll talk to the Queen, see if she can get it sorted! x

Cousin Chris
Sue, Shell & I can't believe how alike you and Chris are. I thought there was a huge resemblance and I asked Shell to have a look. She said "Wow", same nose, cheekbones. Quite remarkable. How's the accommodation with the Franciscan nuns? Do you have to say your nightly prayers and grace before meals? No wonder you needed a new camera - you must have worn the other one out by now!!!! Lots of love to you and Steve Hope to see you on the long weeked.
