Lake Como Contrary to my usual ramblings, this is actually going to be just a short post. I took the day to visit Como which many of you know because George Clooney has a home here in a little town on Lake Como. It is about an hour's train ride from Milan and apart from the Duomo there is nothing particular to visit (or at least anything that I was interested in visiting). There is some incredible shopping to be had though. My day was really spent walking around the small streets of the town. I had thought of taking the boat trip out to some of the other towns that lie on the shores of Lake Como (like Bellagio) but this would have involved a two-hour boat ride just going (there is a speed boat but even that is over an hour's ride). So I just meandered in the town, by the lake, in the piazzas. I took the funicular up to a little town called Brunate. The funicular was founded in 1894 and takes a full 7 minutes to take you up the side of this mountain. You get incredible views of Como, particularly of the Duomo. So a lazy day
