LAS VEGAS
Here we are, waiting in L.A. train station for bus which will bring (take) us to Las Vegas. To city nicknamed Sin City and the Entertainment Capital of the World. Ready to go with us? Can't wait so lets go! 😊) This time we made our way to Las Vegas by Greyhound, where wasn't even any small place to move for me(Dari) compare to Amtrak trains – 6 hours were a bit long and seemed unending for us but after that the city welcomed us fabulously 😊 Just few steps from the train station we have been walking on Fremont street, a pedestrian mall full of bars, casinos and the amazing "Fremont Street Experience". There are numerous outdoor lighting displays where they play great music with shows. In time our arrival they played show for memory of Elisabeth Taylor who died this year. I think I can not explain how was the atmosphere there at the moment, everyone was watching the show and I could see everyone thinking about her movies and her life. Anyway after this the party on Fremont street continued and we got a part of this party. Joost was dancing with the rucksacks still on
his back surrounded by people, I was taking video of the show and later danced with him.... Some local journalist liked us so so so much 😊 that he took pictures of us that we will be in Las Vegas newspapers! 😊) Full of exacting atmosphere around us we forgot to ask him in which newspapers we will be. Never mind, it was cool... We couldn't dance there all night so we slowly walked to our hotel which was of course far away.
The next day we decided to walk slowly to the center of all entertainment. The Fremont street seemed so normal and quiet as street everywhere else in the city. Trough the street Las Vegas Boulevard called also The Strip we got to the begin of the Strip's casino section marked by the tall Stratosphere tower. It was still early afternoon, everyone was still sleeping or just waking up so we bought tickets up to the Stratosphere tower where we could see all city with desert and mountains in background. The weather that day was wonderful. On the top of the tower are situated attractions Big Shot, The Sky Jump, X-scream and Insanity. We didn't try any of
them, we were just watching screaming ladies and drunk boys which was funny enough 😊
The most famous was “Sky jump” - you could jump from the top of the tower down. In next minutes we were walking on the Strip again, continued to explore the city. Even it didn't seem like on the first moment, the Strip is long street with giant mega-casino hotels, decorated with lavish care and attention to detail to create fantasy-like atmosphere. The casinos often have names and themes that evoke romance, mystery and far-away destinations (Venice, Paris, Pyramids of Giza etc.) How later it was we could see more and more lights and people...ups, actually groups of men and ladies wanted rich man just for tonight 😊 Yep, men who came to spend their money for gambling, girls, drinks and more girls 😊) Every building we came into was a small town. Even it didn't look like from outside, inside we could find shops, restaurants, bars, hotels, halls for shows and of course gambling, lots of gambling! Gambling was on every corner!!! We came to this city (to this whole trip) with some budget...but in 5 minutes in Las Vegas you forget everything. This
city makes you to spend your money. You don't want and work on push all the attack of street sellers, gamble machines and sexy girls away? Doesn't matter, this city will get you later or sooner! 😊) We spend all day walking trough Paris, New York, pyramids, castle from fairytale and after great dinner stopped in front of Mandalay Bay hotel. Every hour starts in front of this hotel fountain show with music, we were lucky and came in time to have a good place to see this wonderful show. Music for this show was “Dancing in the rain” which was the best choice and Elvis walking behind us on the street was just the cherry on the cake. 😊))
Until we got back to hotel was early morning and we were tired to dead.
Next day we wanted to rent a car and make a trip to the Hoover dam, which was just a few miles from Las Vegas. Unfortunately we were late and all cars were rented out for that day 😞 Disappointed didn't know how to spend the rest of our time until our bus was leaving... what to do now? How would you kill your time
in gambling city? Are you asking yourself if we gambled?? Now it comes your time and I answer you – YES😊) Last night we tried just for fun 3USD. Today after we storage our backpacks in one of the most expensive hotel on Fremont Street, we went gambling.... And we were successful 😊 From 20 dollars we made 43, from 40 dollars we made over 60 dollars...and from 60 dollars we lost everything!! 😊 A bit expensive killing your time, so we rather left to McDonald for some food.
Ready to leave this city full of sex, drugs and rock and roll we waited for our bus which should bring us to another adventure – Arizona, Linda and Mike!!!
Just the bus didn't come 😞 This city really wanted us, wanted us to spend there more money and we couldn't do anything about it. We stayed another night.
