So after hours of debate and a look at our financial posistion we decided to return to Koh Tao, and this turned out to be a fantastic decision, which i take full credit for!! We started to look into ferries to Koh Tao and found out that we could actually travel to Tao on a speed boat for the same price.....1 1/2 hours on a speed boat! We were expecting a St Tropez style experience, but a Disneyland ride without the safety features was what we were presented with! On the plus side the Nic gained a facelift resulting from the high speed wind, and we both got used to the feelling of whiplash...eventually! All worth it to be back in Koh Tao. When we arrived we got a fantastic room at a fantasitc price of 7 pounds a night, although the bathroom did smell a little dubious at times! The first few days we returned to our previous posisitons by the pool, watching the sunset and eating on the beach, while the chef bbqs in the sea, fantasitic! The best day we had was when we went snorkling with the sharks! AGGHH! we saw seven black tipped reef sharks and

we were snorkling above them and following them. It was quite scary to realise that we were actually so close to the sharks (some people refused to get off the boat and into the water!) I reckon that they were about 4 ft long, Nic disagrees and says that they were shorter, but then she didnt even realise that there are 12 inches in a foot! (all lies made up by Kyle!)We were actually too busy following the sharks that we missed them calling us back to the boat, which could have ended in a nasty open water style accident!! We also saw lots of other fish including swordfish and barracudas, but these were quite overshaddowed by the shark experience. While in Koh Tao we witnessed the true wrath of the legendary asia thunderstorm, we spent hours on the balcony watching the fork lightening hitting in the rainforest behind us and then getting closer and closer, until the entire area around us was being lit up and Nic had to go running back into the room with the kind of scream only a girl can produce. The sound of the thunder was also quite immense and seemed to shake the

entire place! On our last night we ended up meeting with all our dive buddies for a bbq party at the dive shop headquarters, and a great night was had by all. There was lots of dancing and fun and was a great way to end our Koh Toa travels.... definately one to return too!
We got the night ferry to the mainland last night and then a bus to Krabi this morning, where we will stay for a few more days and hopefully do some kayacting, i'll let Nic fill everyone on the pleasure of the nightferry....pleasure my butt!!! Dirty, stinking row of prison style beds, things crawling on you (not just Kyle) and hot dirty bodies!Everyone crammed together on something that was build about 50yrs ago...def didn't look sea worthy! My thoughts of what prison must be like, all on this boat...I shan't even mention the toilet situation I'm trying desperately to erase the image!! Still we survived and I even managed not to cry! Glad to be in Krabi and looking forward to the next few days of air-con (hark at us!) and clean sheets and maybe even a hot shower! Really makes you appreciate what we
