perthamina is coming home

Hello!
Well a bit of a silence, sorry about that. We have left Antigua after six years of visiting to bring Perthamina up to Tortola ready for her trip home. As many of you know we have decided to upgrade and buy a new boat, bigger and younger, so Perthamina is for sale. We also decided to bring her back to the uk, so she is being put on a ship at St thomas in may.

In the meantime, Bruce came to stay for a couple of weeks and we went up to les saintes, and guadaloupe. The weather was awful, rough, big swell , it was very unpleasant for our journeys,. We went to deshaies , and then on to pigeon island for a really good dive. Continuing we went to les saintes, where alan and bruce dived. We had some good meals ashore and enjoyed meeting the ca rally contingent.

Then back to barbuda, beautiful place. Bruce and alan had several dives, they enjoyed that. Back to antigua again, rough trip, and then it was time for bruce to go home.
Couple of days then it was time for for Julian and Sharon to come. In contrast to bruces' week they had perfect weather. We went to nonsuch bay, a snorkel, a dive, and then to the very nice restaurant at nonsuch resort.
Then on to barbuda again, but this time, flat calm, but sooo busy. I have never seen so many boats at Barbuda, and it was very different. We still dived, snorkelled etc but not quite as remote as usual.

Back to jolly harbour and then next day a swim at carlyle bay, on to english harbour, where alan and i and julian had a really good dive. a shoal of snappers, following us , a cave full of blue irridescent fish. a big stingray.
In no time it was a call to the taxi and they were gone.

So now we are in Nevis, a huge hummock of an island, a bit like the hump in close encounters of th e third kind. We have had a very nice afternoon with my cousins' friend s sheena and gordon, and then walked to sunshine bar for a predinner drink, followed by snapper cooked by me and caught by alan. very relaxing sail here, wind behind us, The boat is rolling round a little but all else calm .,

Oh no don't leave!
Hi Alan and Eleanor we saw Perthamina at the CAT club where Scehawk spent the start of the year. Sad that she is for sale but exciting you have new and longer boat in mind. Have you made any purchases yet or ideas about what she will be? A friend on mine Mike and I will be doing a whirlwind trip of the BVI's between 9th and 21st of May. let us know if you will be there. Michelle is well and was on Scehawk for January whilst I was taking my new command over the Royal Huisman Ketch Twizzle. Anyway have fun as ever and hope to see you either sooner of later in something shiny! Love Jon and Michelle Scehawk of Tamar
