Good morning from Hangzhou! After traveling on Friday am ( march 11th) at 8:40am from Boston to Hangzhou, I arrived in Hangzhou China on Saturday (march 12th) at 8:30pm. My driver, Jerry is awesome and if anyone comes to China, you must use him. He speaks excellent English and is a very friendly person. I arrived at the hotel around 9:30pm. It was Saturday night in Hangzhou so the downtown area was packed with people. I was wiped out, so I went to bed after unpacking. The Hyatt is beautiful and the staff is incredible. They brought my bags up for me, then stopped by to give extra shampoo, gel, lotion, etc because I am staying for 14 days. Then today, I need an adapter, it was here in 2 mins. My room was cleaned in record time. The staff is very friendly... So this morning after booking a mani/ pedi appointment for later on tonight, I went exploring. The Westlake area is beautiful.

Here is some history of Hangzhou :
It is one of th eight ancient capitals in China, which was the capital of the state of Wuyue and the Southern Song Dynasty. Each night on the west lake

( across from my hotel), is the West Lake Impressions show which has lights, fireworks and performances on the lake- stay tuned for those pics tonight.

I tried the local Chinese tea today for breakfast- it was delicious... nothing crazy yet for food, I had pancakes with rasperry jam and powdered sugar- it was a nice change from syrup... They have wonderful bakeries and dessert stores around here too. So I can't wait to try it out. The people are very nice and most do speak English. I am looking forward to my adventure here in China... Stay tuned for more info...
