So where did Shirley leave off? Ah thats it we were travelling on from Macquarie.

Now we were very undecided what to do for our last day before getting back to Sydney so we set off with the Hunter Valley in mind and A drive through the wine growing district. This was very interesting but as I'm sure you will all realise looking at vineyards is not like sampling the output, so having spent the late morning and early afternoon in this area it was back to somewhere to stop and an evening meal and we chose Newcastle for this nights stop. Not the best choice we both agreed but it gave us a short journey the next day so that was it.

Up early we set off and planned a stop at the Australian reptile park. Now this was not all creepy crawlies but as the name suggests there were indeed plenty of them. Shirley particularly wanted to see some of the more cuddly variety and there were plenty to satisfy her. The kangaroos were very tame and you were able to wander freely amongst them and feed them by hand if that was your choice. Without wishing to create a list of what was on display there were quite a selection and the Koalas were the favourite. Now to the creepy crawlies. Well snakes and such like are not everybodies favourites, and I'm sure you will all know that Australia has the most and worst of the deadly varieties of reptiles and spiders. There were planty to see with the most deadly and largest pythons on display in glass tanks. Shirley enjoyed seeing the colourful lizards and bravely entered the snake house.

On with the journey and on to Sydney, no where to stay so we set off for Coogee Bay a very pretty resort around the coast from Bondi beach. Now the only reason we knew of this is because it was where Charlotte stopped when she was in Sydney. Everywhere was booked up because there is a music festival this weekend and therfore we had to pay above the odds for a room. Never mind, at least it again had sea views, that is if you stood on the bed and looked between the rooftops. We spent a great afternoon and evening at Coogee enjoying a walk around the Bay to the next coves and and evening stroll watching people swimming by moonlight and partying on the beach.

The next morning (today) we set off for the city centre and our last days of holiday. Not much more to add but we will do a last update.
