Mutrah to Old Muscat

Had a great day today the guy in the Internet Cafe had my photo software on his machine and he has burned me copy of all my photo's which I will airmail home in the next week.

It is bloody hot here today and the place I plan to visit tommorrow registered 43 degrees. So I aint looking forward to the trip down there.

I went to the souk which was easily the best yet, I found heaps of presents for Ruthy, I was so excited about the perfume bottles I rang her and in 16 minutes we were on the phone decided to go to New Zealand early next year so I am happy with that.

Anyway getting back to the souk there was an excellent range of quality goods although they are more expensive than other places I have been, as the Omani Riyal is worth $3.37 at the moment so I have to watch what I spend. I didnt buy much today as a cruise ship is in the harbour and the prices were higher than they should have been because of the old fat Europeans running around everywhere.

After the souk I was off on foot initially along the Cornische to Muscat, I took a cab there because of the heat and spent the next two hours wandering around the forts,museums and taking snaps of everything in sight. Its really beautiful down that part of town, no wonder the Sultan lives there.

After that I walked the 3 or 4 Kilometres back to the Internet place and downloaded my latest shots for the blog.

Fantastic journal and even the bad bits are exciting. Can realise now why you went there! Magnificent photos and you can be proud of them, good as Ruthie's from last trip.
