Edit Blog Post

For days on end I have been searching the net for a blog site I felt spoke to me.
This also means for days I have been talking to myself and writing random letters in wordpad, which then get deleted.
Finally I have found an international site I really like.

A little information on myself? I have always wanted to travel the world. I have never had a dead set place in mind from which to start with, as thats the way I am, go with the flow. Anyways back in Sep'10 a friend of mine relocated to the UAE. I was not sure what to make of the move, I felt nothing bad against it, I just didnt know how he'd handle it.

After a few weeks I got a call from him, he was raving about his work, the place, the people and so on, he mentioned that he'd remembered I wanted to travel, and how would I feel about joining him? This I must admit I didnt give much thought and simply answered, sure why not. I sent through my CV, went through two 45min conference phone interviews, and on the 1st of Feb 2011, I arrived in The UAE! I will not mention personal names nor, the company for which I work for, but I can tell you this, I am so happy,. the suns getting jealous.

I love the place, I love my job and the people. Its so different on so many levels. I know when we travel we always have a certain image, expectancy in our heads about the way things will work, this I found happened even to me. Before I left my home ( Durban South Africa) I was warned by many about the rules, laws, and strictness. This very issue that have kept so many people from discovering this beauty, or should I say kept them from exploring such beauty. Im not much of a worrywart, I dont plan much, just enough to have it qualified as common sense thinking. I dont judge, I try not to hate or feel anger towards things in life, that arent really my problem.

I came from a very bad childhood and even though that had its benefits ( independance, maturity, self guided etc) I have decided that, the past is exactly that, the past, why let it shape ones future in a negetiive way? I take only the good and the stuff I can learn from and I carry on. I hope this website will br around for the next 30years at least as, I plan to travel for as long as I can, all over the world.

So far, I have been here 12days. I have worked 11of them, ( landed here at 1am, started working the same day at 7am, and it was a 10hr flight!) and had one off day. On my off day, myself and my friend, lets call him Casper ( the one that suggested I come) went to Dubai. It was amazing, I went to see a mate who had landed a week or so before me. He is the most amazing guy in the world, a chef and if he wanted to be, a frikkin model, ( gorgeous eyes). The three of us, went to the Emirates Mall and I bowled for the first time in my life ( it only took an entire country move, to get me to), I also walked around a proper arcade, where the toys werent yo'yos or gift packs, but rather black berrys and digital cameras. We walked around and chatted about the most amazing things. My friend that arrived before me, ( lets call him James Dean) actually had his brother in law staying down the road from him, so after doing some stuff he met us at the arcade. Thats right, four crazy, weird, wild, south africans walking around the Emirates Mall, what a site:-)

I have amazing collegues who I work and stay with. It's never gaurenteed that you'll get on with your room or house mates, nor the people you work with. I have been lucky enough to have the lighter side of that deal and have amazing people around me. I have friends from, Spain, Germany, Sri Lanka, Uk, South Africa ( Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburgh), Russia, Pakistanini ( sorry if I have spelt that incorrectly) and so on. Not that it isn't the norm for me to be surrounded by people from all over the world, as my family belong to a student exchange programme, and a servace system. Growing up my mother always had her friends from all around the world staying with us, and much the same, with my aunt and her husband.

But for now, ladies and gents I must be off. We will chat daily and pics will be posted some time soon:-)
Xoxo
