Since many of us will begin our journey in Kitimat I thought it only fitting to give a bit of an update. The name Kitimat comes from The Haisla Nation, our friends and neighbours at the Kitamaat Village meaning "People of the Snow". This year we are living up to our name as we are experiencing an old fashion Kitimat winter. The past weekend we were blessed with about 45 cm of snow and most of the community were without power for 12 hours. Monday morning the streets and sidewalks were clear of snow, the sun was out and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Although the temperature was cool, people are out and about walking and believe it or not I even saw a couple of bikers riding down the hill.
