So much to talk about, so little time and attention span...

Edit Blog Post

Ok, Ok... I know I said I'd try to update at least once a week. That probably won't happen. I'm working (or have started working on) a rough draft of my next blog because I don't have enough internet time to sit here and compose.

Life here is interesting...and different. Let it suffice to say that it is definitely not as culturally acceptable to be as hobo-ish as I am at home.

So, to tease you and get you excited about my upcoming posts, here's a sneak peak of what's happened so far:
-I've been proposed to.
-I've gone out dancing in a Ghanaian club.
-I've thrown up my malaria medicine.
-I've started to like cold showers.
-I wash everything by hand.
-I've ridden a tro-tro.
-I've seen hairy legs. on women.
-I've been to a church where people tried to get me to speak in tongues.
-My room is pretty clean, but if my roommate finds it's not clean enough, she'll go behind me and fix it up. She's not the only Ghanaian to do this.
-I drank out of my first sachet of water.
-only canopy tour in Africa!
-humourous (to me) misunderstanding about fiber cookies with my roommate
-lots of new friends
-a trip to the hospital (not for me)
-learning to remember to carry toilet paper and soap with me as it is not supplied here
-bought meals for ~70 American cents
-bought from the night market by myself!
-went to Cape Coast and El Mina
-learned some critical Ghanaian etiquette (still trying not to use left hand!)

I'm sure I'm missing some, but that's what I can think of for now.

Ok, guys, I've got to go get some food so I can take my malaria prophalaxis before Twi class! Wow, my life sounds interesting. But really, it's kind of normal. Just different, but normal, you know?

FYI, planning on volunteering and traveling around Ghana, and maybe to Togo! Woohooo! Details to follow! And probably a story about my vaccinations for traveling north. :P
