Happy new year to you all! I've started 2011 with quite a bang. I spent the last few days at Sarah's house mainly at the swimming pool. We met up Sarah's friend and her kids and we all had a good time in the water. Isobel (Sarah's youngest) loved jumping into our arms from the ledge. She didn't want to get in the water at first but then she loved jumping in. Lucinda is a good swimmer as well. New Years Eve was a bit quieter. Sarah and I mad a bunch of nibbly food like Sushi, nachos and pizza. Sarah was so tired she couldn't hang on until midnight but I stayed up and talked to people on the phone.

On my last day with Sarah we got to go out to the Kalgoorlie golf course and hit some balls and drive the carts around. Sarah's friend's husband manages the restaurant there so we got to do it all for free. Was a bit of fun! The next morning my train was due to leave Kalgoorlie at 7:05am. We tried our best but we got to the train station just as the whistle blew and the train pulled away....without me on it hahaha. Poor Sarah was so upset with herself but I was calm about it all because I knew there was an afternoon train. The lady on the platform got me onto the train leaving at 3pm but it wouldn't get into Perth until 9:30pm. So we drove back to kambalda to relax and catch a few more zzzzz's. We made the 3pm train with plenty of time and then it was time to say goodbyes. I had a great visit with Sarah and Jason and the girls. Was so glad to spend some time with family for the holidays.

As the train stopped and pulled away again in Southern Cross I got a bit sad knowing that I may not get back to that town I called home for a few months. I got into Perth and discovered that one of the AMMS boys was on the train as well. So I caught up with him and we caught the other train into the city together. I got to my hostel just after 10pm and it's a really good one. Very clean.

I headed to King's park in the city overlooking the Swan river the next day. I didn't last long there as it was SO hot. I was instantly sweating. Beautiful park though. After showering again I just walked into the city and met up a Canadian girl who was a skimpy at the Railway pub with me. She had an english girl with her that she just met and the 3 of us went out for a few drinks. Was great fun and we met some Italian boys.

The next day I did some errands and some shopping before Kylie came into Perth and picked me up. So happy to see her again. We all met up with another guy from Southern Cross who I hadn't seen in a while and that was awesome. Had a few drinks with him and then we headed to another pub to meet some other Southern Cross guys. Slowly more and more people came to join us. Jo, who I worked with in SX when I first got there came into town that day as well so she came out and a couple other people I had met once or twice in SX.

We ended up going out in Scarborough in Perth to a place called the Indi bar. Had such a good time there and then we found out that Paddy (one of the AMMS boys) just got back from Ireland that day and we had his address so we drove to his place and you know 4 girls who had been drinking can get a bit out of hand haha. We were banging away on his door and saying his name and all kinds of things haha. One of the lights was on and then went off and turned back on so we knew someone was there. Anyways no one ever answered the door. Found out the next day that he wasn't even there but it was his roommate haha oooops!!!

Was hard to say bye to Kylie again. She's such an awesome girl! The next morning I met up with Jo again and we got cheap pedicures done which were desperately needed. Headed out to Harbour town which is an outlet mall. I managed to get new shoes for $59 when they are normally $130. I did good! I'm super happy about them!! Had lunch and then sat out on a patio of a pub right on the river called The Lucky Shag hahaha.

When Jo and I get together shenanigans ensue. We got ready back at her hotel and met up some people she knew and went out in Northbridge in Perth. Had a really awesome time and totally out of the blue some other boys from SX showed up. Too funny. Most random night ever but a great one all in all. I'm just doing laundry and packing up to go on my 6 day camping tour of the Southwest corner of Australia. I'm excited!

Happy new year to you all again!!!
