Canopy Walk Canopy Walk Canopy Walk

We couldn't go on it due to maintenance
After the heat of the city we needed to get away for a while. We took the train to the Forestry research of Malaysia, 16 kilometres out of the city centre.

All went well until we got of the train and needed a taxi to take us the last few kilometres, no taxis to be seen. Eventually we thumbed a lift and got one within a few minutes by a nice English speaking lady. She was very helpful and took us right to the gate. It turned out she had a daughter attending Nottingham University. It's a small world.

The trek through the forest was hard and sweaty but interesting, unfortunately the canopy walkway was closed due to maintenance work.

Leaving the forest we had similar taxi problems and the sky turned a deep grey colour, we feared we'd get drenched but just in time a friendly Malaysian family came to our rescue and dropped us off at the train station. Restores my faith in human nature!

Today we took a 10 minute walk to the Botanical gardens and Planetarium and had a lovely day out.

Tomorrow it;s off to Sulawesi and poor internet so ... bye for now.

Wonder why it's taking so long!

Lazy turd!
What a lazy turd! I guess the heat and humidity would make it hard to work though...
