After going to Colombia only 3 weeks ago, it was time for another trip. Daddy had more than 2 weeks off before starting his new job as national travel medicine director for Concentra, so it was, of course, time to travel again. Daddy decided to take his daddy on a cruise with us, but as my daddy had to make it a little more exciting, he decided to do it a little differently. We were to fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico and stay there 3 nights before Avo (grandpa in portuguese) Jay arrived and we boarded a boat. Then, after visiting 4 Caribbean islands, daddy and I would get off on the last port, Sint Maarten, leave Avo Jay to finish the cruise and we would stay for 5 nights on the island before flying back to Miami. Daddy had not been to any of the places we were going, so it was to be new for him as well.

So, on Dec 16, 1 day after daddy's last day at the University of Miami, we flew to San Juan, Puerto Rico. After taking public transportation (metro, train, shuttle) to FLL airport, our plane was delayed by 2 hours....bummer.

But luckily daddy brought the portable DVD player and coloring books, so I had plenty to do. We also met one of daddy's patients from U of M who was very nice and offered us some help if we needed it since we arrived in San Juan after midnight, but we just took a taxi and arrived at Da' House.

I really liked our hotel Da'House. It was right in the middle of old San Juan, had a jacuzzi on the roof, where I got my first snorkel lesson from daddy, and really nice people worked there. The first day in San Juan we went to San Cristobal Fort. I had a blast running after daddy, going through the tunnels, and trying to catch iguanas. We then took the trolley around town and ended up at another fort, San Felipe del Morro. There was a huge grassy area in front of it right next to the ocean. When we saw a bunch of kids flying kites, we decided to buy one and I had soooooooo much fun flying it. We were there for a couple hours, but then, I accidentally let go and

the kite flew away. Daddy told me it was probably going to Miami.

The next day we went to a museum that had an Egyptian stuff. After being in Egypt this summer and loving the pyramids and mummies, I wanted to go. It was not as cool as being in Egypt, but I liked it a lot. We then went to another museum, the children's museum. I had a lot of fun there, dressing up, making impressions of me and daddy, and other stuff. We went and ate at Raices one night and El Jibarito another, both with great food. I loved the ribs and fish and daddy the mofongo.

The next morning, Avo' Jay arrived. He got in really early! We let him take a nap in "Da' House" while we went out for breakfast, then got our stuff and made our way 3 blocks to the boat.
