Christmas Party for Park workers

Last Saturday, the 18th, my friend Betty and I decided to host a little gathering for the park workers and their families to show our appreciation for what they do here in the park all year (for the first time all of my plants survived!!). Betty provided her place and turkey and together we prepared salads, breads and provided drinks. As a special surprise, we had made sugar cookies and told them about our tradition at Christmas and invited them to help decorate the cookies. We had about 8 children there and they loved it. The park owner, Cesar, and his girlfriend, Cynthia, joined us as well. Although the party was set to begin at 6 pm, no one arrived until 7ish which we knew would happen so Betty and I had a few cocktails and relaxed. I think that everyone really enjoyed it but it took a bit for all of the adults to relax, especially the wives whom we did NOT know. Of course, knowing Spanish really helps so I had Gabriela next to me and she enjoys gossiping about what is going on!!! We had a blast! She also invited us to celebrate Christmas at their house on Christmas Eve. That starts about 11 am and goes all night.......We have our own park party here on Christmas Eve so we will see how that goes........Am still feeling a little blue (actually a lot) about not being home. You and Mike were Missed
Your blog is great. Looks like you had a very successful party, your little buddy is very cute. We sure missed you at Frank and Carol's last weekend. It just was not the same. The Emme Clan is coming in this weekend. Laurie, from Minnesota, and her family arrived last night about midnight. Sandy, from Indiana, will be in tomorrow. They celebrate here Christmas eve. So, it will be busy around here until Monday, when all leave. However, we will be getting chase here for a few day next week to celebrate his Christmas with us and spend a few days here; So, wishing you a Merry Christmas and lots of fun in the Park. Love , Bob
