3 Months Post-Adoption
At the International Adoption Clinic at Children's Hospital Greetings All!
Julia has now been with us nearly 3 months and she is a daily joy in our lives; a jubilant, smiley, joyful little soul who grows, progresses, develops, and surprises us each and every day!
She is firmly entrenched in the terrain of our family with her transplanted roots now winding deep into the bedrock of our hearts. It seems she has lived with us a thousand years now. We wake up to her smiles every morning and lay her down in her crib each night, sleepy and milk-drunk with a peck on the cheek.
Emma and Joshua are a wonderful big sister/big brother team, ever eager to hold, play, entertain, and just love on her all day long. At times there is even fighting over who gets to play with the baby!
When I last wrote, Julia was about to celebrate her first birthday. Indeed, that went well. As did Halloween. As did Thanksgiving. As will Christmas.
Life just unrolls, unfolds, and moves us forward through the joys, the hardships, and the many blessings in our lives. As for Julia’s lifelong journey with our family, we have merely arrived at the End of

All bundled up in 4 layers of fleece, happy and warm in the back pack for the Christmas-tree-cutting forest trek! (Temp was 19 deg F!) the Beginning. We are grateful to God to be so blessed beyond measure. God is Good!
Many thanks to the countless souls, friends, family who have helped us on this journey to baby Julia. Thanks especially to our parents in Colorado and Washington. We could not have reached her without all of your thoughts, work, and prayers.
Adoption has proved to be a magical and blessed force in our lives. And any passage in life such as this inevitably reveals its share of surprising and weighty epiphanies. The lasting lesson which Julia seems to have taught us is that we were
all meant for adoption, that our hearts seem to be intrinsically designed both to adopt one another and to be adopted.
In one way or another, we are
all orphans, and we were
all meant for something better in the eyes of the One who made us.
“In love he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, for the praise of the glory of his grace that he granted us in the beloved.” - Ephesians 1:5-6
I will leave you with a beautiful poem

Wonderment at the foot of her first Christmas tree! written by my sweet and wise wife in reflection about Baby Julia. Beyond that, I have posted a few photos of Julia showing how she has blossomed more beautifully than any flower ever could.
Again, we offer thanks to all who have followed along with us on this sacred passage to Julia. If you're interested in an 18 minute video synopsis of our entire adoption journey to Julia, it's currently posted on Blip.TV under the movie title

Beautiful story
Hi Guys, your blog appeared today as a 'random' read and i found it truly amazing and wonderful. She looks like such a beautiful little girl and you have done a fantastic thing to give her more opportunities in life that she would have had before. I would love to see some photos of her nearly 1 year on...and the rest of you too :) tam
