Every time I step across the street into the area known as Heyri Art Village, my brains go into overdrive. The ideas begin popping out of my skull about things to draw, design and take photographs of. My mouth begins to salivate for all the delicious cakes, coffees, deserts and sandwiches that each coffee shop provides! I am drawn into each visit because I will always see something different, learn something about an artist, musician, painter or poet or I will find myself in the house of a collector. There are collections inside peoples homes about stamps, posters, cinema, films, cartoon characters, toys, plants, herbs, fauna... basically if you can collect it it might be there! Finally, we come around to those average people who have rented space in the large complex building just trying to sell something to anyone; candles, home made clocks, bags, jewelry and more. There is even a playground dedicated to the children's character Dalki.

Since arriving in July 2010, I think we have been across the street to explore probably a hundred different times by now. We have our favorite cafes where you can order the most spectacular single drip coffees with beans from Guatemala, Nicaragua, Jamaica or a plantation in Colombia. Then add a slice of delicious decadent mouth watering cake such as double tiramisu, triple chocolate, caramel vanilla crunch cheesecake and more!

But one of my favorite

End of July
Middle of August

1,000 trips
1,000 photos
1,000 cafes
there is more to see do and be a part of then any other place we have visited.

this is a short dialog
and a TON of photos
