again! well, you didn't expect a photo of the soup did you??
Up late, went swimming at lunchtime, rather than early in the morning as originally planned, I actually slept until around 11am, I seem to be pretty tired of late. Have decided that I really need to shift some excess weight really quickly, as I’ve just put on too much weight in the UAE to really be able to run any more, so a week’s diet is called for. This is only a week, and its just to try and kick start some weight loss, so it’s the cabbage soup diet for me for the next 7 days, starting tomorrow. I’m not convinced, I have to say, that its going to give me enough energy for the training I need to be doing, but I can’t really move that much at the moment anyway, so I figure drastic times call for drastic measures, so I’m going to give it a try for a week and then settle back into a healthier and more balanced diet after that. Basic plan is you make up the soup, which, despite being called cabbage soup is actually a vegetable soup, and you can eat as much of that each day as you like, and each day you are allowed additional stuff. Day 1 is as much fruit as you want, except bananas, day 2 as much veg as you want except potatoes, but you do get a baked potato for dinner, day 3 is fruit and veg, day 4 bananas and skimmed milk, day 5 is the highlight, steak day and days 6 and 7 I can’t remember as its too much to think about. Will be interesting to see how it works out, but 7 days it is. Going to be tough, not least as my diet has been completely out of control the last 4-6 weeks. Anyway, enough of the diet! The swim was good, was trying to swim 2km, but only had time for 76 lengths, which is 1700 ish before we ran out of time. However, as the pool is open air, I’d completely forgotten that because I normally swim early in the morning, the sun isn’t that high in the sky at that point. NOT the case at noon until 1pm, and, as a result, I really caught the sun all across my back. Didn’t really notice until the evening but, when I did, I was pretty red!! Swim went well, though, pretty comfortable in the water, arms sore afterwards but I don’t normally do a lot of swimming so that’s to be expected. Then it was off to the shops to get the ingredients for the soup, and making a massive batch of soup ready for tomorrow…..wonder how that’ll be?!
