Good Bye Ton Sai

Leaving Lanta was an extremely sad affair. Tears were shed, hugs were shared and gifts exchanged. Leaving the dedicated staff of Oasis sunset, many of whom we have worked along side over the last 3 months, was by far the most emotional on the trip so far. Graeme unfortunately had to make an unexpected trip to KL to renew his work visa. This unfortunately meant there would be little climbing done over the next few days....(Graeme - Hope its all sorted?)

The ferries are now running between the Islands and this made our trip back to Tonsai an easy one. Mat drove us to to the Saladan Pier where we caught the 2 hour fast boat to Railay. Arriving in good time on a clear day we landed back on our beach for a last 5 day reunion with Steve and Julia.
Checked in we found Steve and Julia for an amazing sunset, the clearest for days. With only 5 days left in Thailand we set to wandering the beaches and sharing drinks and food with the many friendly bar staff on the beach. One in particular, the Viking Bar became our 'home' for a few nights. We helped design the party fliers, organise the food for the free BBQ's and Guy and Julia even became the resident DJ's for a few nights.
The owner Tobi, threw us a little leaving party (by far the best of the season), free food, fireworks, fire jumping competitions and a very extended happy hour.
We watched Live Bands, attempted the slack lines and jumped through rings of fire. (Tobi - Thanks for an amazing send off, its one we won't forget)

We said goodbye to Steve, Julia and Adam in the wee hours of the morning, left them on the dance floor and we can't wait to travel with such great companions again soon. Steve and Julia- Thanks for an amazing time through two countries over 8 weeks, it will be a time and place we wont forget easily and hope to continue again soon - Reunion on Tonsai this time next year confirmed!!

Fattened up on large quantities of BBQ chicken, sticky rice, and mangoes we are ready for our mission to the land of Perg. Sad to be leaving Thailand, we have had a great off season, made some true friends, seen what we came for and alot more.........
So here we are sitting in an internet cafe on Ko San road, Bangkok for the 4th time in as many months........
NZ here we come.
