Out on an office coffee run with a colleague in Union Square, Susan Sarandon passed us by, looking very 'Best-n-Less' in a daggy purple t-shirt and pants.
My colleague, Stephanie, was in rapture over an exchanged smile with the star. Half a block away Stephanie was still going on about how Susan Sarandon actually smiled at her before, true New Yorker style, a random guy decided to join our conversation. "Of course she smiled," he said, "She's a nice person. You think just because someone's a movie star they're not gonna smile? She even said hi to me, then told me she'll take me out to lunch tomorrow". He winked and walked off shaking his head.
